In fact, that’s how my friend from Illinois acquired their three bedroom house. They checked tons of properties from various free foreclosure listings until they found something that meets at least half of their requirements. The house looked very bad the first time they saw it but with a help from a friend, they found out that everything still works and all they need to do is renovate. The offer was accepted at an unbelievably low price so now they are living in an old but very comfortable and spacious 3-bedroom house.
Want to try your luck? There’s this website that offers free foreclosures service. The owner and webmaster Gwen, searches the web for foreclosure properties and then adds them to her free foreclosure lists. One of her tips is to look for properties without pictures. Most people look for detailed descriptions, pictures, videos before they visit a property. If they see a property that has no photo, the odds are high that they search for something else. Since the properties without photos are less popular, banks will take any reasonable offer. Of course, you’d have to travel miles just to check out the place, but you never know, you might find your dream house while you’re at it.
