I want to be a Billionaire

A lot of people enjoy reading about rags to riches stories. Not only because these stories inspire them to do better in life but also because it’s so much easier to root for the underdog. You might notice the term Nouveau Riche that is often used to describe these people who were able to rise from their current social class. Nouveau Riche is French for ‘new rich’ or new money and refers to someone from a lower class who acquired a great deal of wealth. There are plenty of personalities that I’m sure you’re familiar with who experienced the rags-to-riches story. There’s Jim Carrey, Ray Charles, Fantasia Barrino, Oprah Winfrey and many more.

There’s this article that talks about various business ventures who gave some individuals the Nouveau Riche status. I am very amazed on the entrepreneurial ideas of these Billionaires. Whenever I hear or read about how someone earned so much money doing something as simple as selling ties (Ralph Lauren), I want to immediately put my thinking cap and plan about my future business as well. Most of these billionaires grew up being frugal, buying and selling at a lower cost until they are huge enough to conquer the world. Amongst all the business ventures and stories that I read from the article, the De Moraes creed stayed with me - Work hard and don’t borrow.
