Fitness Blog
Posted on August 14th, 2008 | by dzoi |I’ve always enjoyed discovering new blogs every day. The genres usually vary because you never know what new things you will learn. Mostly, my favorite topics are about parenting and technology but this latest blog that I’m about to tell you is neither that. It’s called Fit Fuel, a blog that talks mainly about keeping yourself fit. The company Fit Fuel sells affordable nutrition products online and the blog is their one way of helping people improve the quality of their lives.
One of the articles that caught my attention is about eating natural and organic food. I think one of the reasons why most people don’t go for this because they are more expensive and some just can’t afford it. But according to the article, there’s nothing more expensive than health care when it comes to long term health. The author then wrote a couple of tips on buying organic foods on a budget which includes prioritizing what you need to buy. In this case, buy organic versions of produce that is high in pesticides like green bell peppers, spinach, celery, apples, peaches, cucumbers, etc.
Another article that I enjoyed reading is Going Raw. Apparently, when you cook food at temperatures higher than 118°F, the vitamins and minerals that was supposed to be in the food gets lost or damaged. In short, the more raw your food, the better it is for digestion and absorption of nutrients. The first time I heard about raw foods is when Demi Moore claimed that she eats anything raw that’s why she looks good and healthy. I wasn’t sure if I can take anything raw especially meat and seafood but according to the article at Fit Fuel, a raw food diet consists of fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, dried fruit and fresh juices. Well thank God because that I can take. The author tried this by the way and he lost 25 pounds in six weeks.
