Weekly Deals at Buy.com

My mother-in-law is looking to replace her 14″ laptop with a smaller unit. She depends on me to find the right machine for her so now I’m doing my best to research online. She travels a lot so she prefers something really light and small yet still powerful enough to handle documents and photos. I suddenly remembered about Buy.com’s weekly deals so I checked their site to see if there are great deals on laptops. As soon as I saw this ASUS Eee PC 900 from Buy.com, I got really excited because it’s just exactly what she needs. The 8.9″ screen is perfect and the weight is below 1KG that even children can carry it with ease. It’s currently on sale at $514.99 so it still meets her budget of $600.
While I showed the specs to her, I told her to consider the refurbished HP Pavilion for my brother-in-law too. My brother-in-law has been bugging his parents to give him a laptop because he will start his on-the-job training really soon. And even if it’s a reconditioned unit, the following features totally make up for it - high definition widescreen, uses X2 dual core processor, 250 GB HD and 3GB memory. It’s being sold at a low price of $599 so I really think it’s a great deal. I would definitely buy this if I’m not happy with my laptop.
