Just when we were all ready to sleep and rest our weary heads, everything turned black and suddenly became eerily quiet. I was hoping it was just a minor power interruption, one that would last for about 30 seconds tops but it didn’t. The Husband called Meralco up and we learned that it won’t be back until 5AM. Luckily, my mom-in-law’s room opens to the terrace so it a bit comfortable sleeping there.

Sandy fell asleep in no time, sandwiched between me and her lola. It was still pretty hot and since the doors are windows are open, we can hear our neighbor’s baby crying, the dogs barking, people arguing because of the power interruption and cars leaving (probably to go to a hotel where there’s aircondition). I kept looking at my cellphone’s time even though I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. Sleeping is impossible because one, Sandy gets itchy when she sweats so I fan her with her travel aquadoodle (the only thing that I was able to grab) and two, she kept embracing me and invading my space so half of my body is hanging outside the bed. I was wishing so much that time would move faster so it will be 5AM already. Around 4AM, the power came back and we moved to our room. Woke up groggily in two hours, looking forward to work only to find out that our phones are busted and that I don’t have internet.

Crappy night, crappy morning. I’m close to throwing a hissy fit today.
