Ahhh. Edward vs. Jacob. Where should I start? And we haven’t even reached Eclipse yet.

Before I list my favorite scenes, let’s talk about why New Moon is better than Twilight.

1. Even if you don’t read the book, chances are you  might enjoy New Moon. However, you might not be able to understand why Jacob became Bella’s sun. When Edward left her, nothing mattered anymore. That is, until Jacob somehow helped her hear Edward’s voice again whenever she’s doing something dangerous.

Bella the movie counterpart didn’t look that distraught and devastated too. I guess because she’s too beautiful but if only they could’ve shown more scenes of her crying or shouting, I’d be very happy.

2. More budget on this film. Better acting too, thanks to Taylor Lautner. He really is the star here, no contest. Edward still has that pinched and stiff expression all the time (plus that distracting lipstick) but wait until you see the part where he visited the Volturi and learned that they have decided not to kill him. You wouldn’t see anyone more broken than he was.

3. More budget so better effects, fight scenes.

4. Better skin color for the vampires. Although they still have the same pasty look on some scenes. Their golden eyes are much more beautiful in New Moon too.

Now to my favorite scenes. I still can’t find the screencaps to some of them, too bad. These are not spoilers but scenes that you can look forward to.

1. Bella seeing her grandmother in the meadow only to find out that it was her, looking at herself in the mirror with Edward still frozen as a seventeen-year-old boy.

2. Edward saying goodbye to Bella. At the end of the movie/book, Edward asked Bella how could she believe that she meant nothing to him. Has she forgotten everything that he told her? The answer is – Bella was so sure she didn’t deserve Edward so she’s so ready to believe the worst.

3. Edward reciting the parts from Romeo and Juliet. Rob P.’s voice was so hypnotic here, I’m giving him points for that.

4. Jasper attacking Bella. I love it when the Cullens are together. Plus their colors and eyes were beautiful in this scene.

5. Bella drowning and seeing Edward under the water. Then all of a sudden, a hand appeared to save her. Very symbolic. Awwww.

6. Hot Jacob everywhere hahaha. Seriously, he made things very interesting. He’s really good! You’ll feel bad for him, laugh with him, want him (his warm body at least bwahaha) and just wish he can be happy too.

7. The scene where Paul transformed into a wolf in front of Bella. We almost clapped our hands here. So well executed it frightened me a bit. Not the screencap below but you’ll get the idea of how the wolves look like.

8. Jacob looking like this after the fight with Paul. He looked at Bella and seemed to say “Now, you know.” Love his new hair!

Bella’s almost kissing scene with Jacob in the kitchen right before Edward’s phone call would definitely look hot and sweet at the same time.

Soooo much better than Edward and Bella’s nose-bumping kisses. I guess they are saving the right kisses for Breaking Dawn. Edward can’t lose himself after all while Bella is still human.

9. I was excited to see Jane but her performance was nothing to rave about. Now, Aro, this guy rocks! Can’t wait to see him in Breaking Dawn again.

10. Bella looking like a lost, broken woman. Finally!

11. Bella becoming one of them in Alice’s head. Can’t find a bigger photo but this made me really excited!

12. Last but not the least, Edward’s suffering when he found out that Bella “died”. He went to Italy to ask the Volturi to end his life but they didn’t want to  kill him because they think he’s too talented to die.
