A friend had some extra organic crib mattresses during her baby shower and asked if I want to get one of them. Normally, I wouldn’t be interested to get a crib but after seeing the bed bugs and ant bites on Meg’s legs and hands, I realize we need to be careful where we put her to sleep. I just don’t know how hard it will be to put her on her own bed/crib now that she’s gotten used to co-sleeping.

There are several advantages to having a crib but they get all trumped by the fact that with co-sleeping, I don’t need to get up 5 or 6 times a night just to feed her. Yes, she still feeds frequently and I am still sleep deprived. So we’ll have to find some other way to solve the bed bugs problem without resorting to getting a crib. In fact, now that I think about it, her bites were not from our bed, but from the other room where she plays/naps during day time. Maybe we could just get her a playpen but have her sleep with us when it’s night time.
