Eating and more Pictures – Disneyland HK

It’s rare that The Husband and I get to have photos together when it’s just the three of us. But now that Sandy’s older, she’s learning how to take photos properly. Just look at her attempt below.

And before I forget, let me post some of our Disney eats here. I still find most of them expensive but I guess you pay what you get. We (or is it just me) can’t live without rice!

For example, Sandy just finished eating a hotdog meal and corn on the photo above. But after watching the Lion King show for 30 minutes, she got hungry again!

Our HK Disney Trip

Just thought I’d share some of my most favorite photos in Disneyland (taken by the Husband, of course).

I just love walking on Main St. The brick floors, small shops and quaint restaurants are just beautiful you can’t help but wonder if you’re in a dream. Well, that’s what Sandy said when she first stepped in Disney.

No Pork for Two Weeks and Counting

Ahh, it feels good to eat just fish, chicken and vegetables. Although I miss pork and beef, I feel lighter and more active on our new diet.

Thank God I have The Husband to keep the meals interesting too.

Vacation After Vacation

I know we’re going on a vacation in a couple of days but my thoughts just keep heading towards the beach. Our vacation, although there could be shopping involved, will mostly be for kids so I’m only 80% excited. What I really want to do is visit a place with properties similar Cabo San Lucas rental. Huge rooms with a view of the ocean, access to inifinity pools and overflowing food and drinks. I know – we are addicted to food and a vacation isn’t complete if the food isn’t good and plenty. Then at night, I want to listen to local musicians playing by the beach while we have dinner with (or without, is that even possible?) our daughter. It doesn’t have to be expensive. As long as we can all relax, then that’s fine by me.

It Just Never Ends

This may sound weird but I want an mmf drawer. And a new computer table plus removable drawers underneath. Then I could probably use a new desktop, getting tired of my laptop really so I can install Windows 7. After that, I’m planning to buy a portable hardisk, maybe with a capacity of 500GB or 1TB. Having said all that, I guess it’s not really weird knowing my penchant for wanting things that I couldn’t buy right NOW. All these will have to wait now that we’re saving up to buy new furniture and appliances for the baby.

Bathroom Fix

Talking about plumbing fixture first thing in the morning is not exactly my thing. But something needs to be done in the hallway’s bathroom. I’d rather The Husband use that instead of the one inside our room because he gets really noisy in the mornings with his sneezing and coughing (thanks to his allergies). With the new baby coming, I’m sure he’ll wake up the whole family if he gets ready inside our bathroom. Poor husband, always have to move whether it’s sleeping or taking a bath, but what can we do? If the baby will be as hard as Sandy, we’ll need all the sleep and rest we can get.

Dinner with Friends in Serendra

After a year, we finally saw our friends Chay and Honey again. These two are so busy with their call center business that it’s so hard to get hold of them. This dinner was also our post-Christmas celebration since they weren’t able to attend our official Christmas party.

We had dinner at Sogu, a japanes resto in Serendra and then had cakes, coffee and tea at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Thanks Lorna and Cliff for the photos. Our group is really growing every year and I hope our bride-to-be will soon have a baby too to join the gang.

Shopping for Baby Once More

Aside from air-conditioner, we need to buy a dehumidifier when the baby comes out. The long list will just never end whenever there’s an addition to the family. I remember we had our room and bathroom fixed when Sandy came. Bought more than $1000 worth of new furniture just to make sure that the little princess and the new mom will be comfortable. Of course, we never really used all of them which is a total waste of money. So this time, we are doing what we can to be smart buyers by buying things that we need. Not just because they’re cute or looks comfy.

Speed

I was watching a documentary on recovering drug addicts and life in a drug rehab center the other night and it got me thinking. A number of the patients were upstanding citizens, management-level employees, and even civic leaders and I thought really hard about what drove these people to substance abuse. Most of them did meth, which according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration is, in some states, second only to alcohol in terms of usage. Think about that, in the hierarchy of things you learn outside your home, doing meth comes drinking beer. I can only wonder what the numbers are like over here. I think family plays the most important role in the prevention of substance abuse. Tell your kids drugs kill (I mean scare the daylights out of them), make sure you know the people your kids hang out with, and teach them to make the right choices as early as possible.
