Aggie Wants To Know.

Topic No. 1: Life After the Wedding - the Married Life.
What are the things you want them to know about life after the wedding?

When I got married, my mother had a very long speech. She spoke so fast for fear of water works that it was hard to understand what she was saying half the time. But the one thing that stayed with me is this: “Marriage is not a bed of roses”

I know before I got married that marriage life has ups and downs. But I had no idea how hard it could be. There are shouting matches, cold treatments, and resentment in every actions and words. And that was when we didn’t have a kid. Now, it’s so much harder because there’s just no time to talk about what happened. We had to kiss and make up quickly for our daughter’s sake that we always fail to find a solution to our problem.

So here’s what I’m going to tell Sandy:

You enter marriage not because all your friends are married and you’re sick of being alone but because you’ve found a person you cannot live without. Since you can’t imagine your life without him, you need to accept all his habits, his fears and weaknesses, his dreams no matter how far fetched they are. Remember your vows everyday - for better or worst, for richer or for pooer, in sickness and in health. It’s a cliché but this is true: “ang pagaasawa ay hindi parang kaning isinubo”. This is why marriage is hard work. Romance fades, even love. It’s a two-man team and both of you should do your best, as if your lives depend on it, to make it work.

Trust me when I say that there will be moments when you just want to be out. But as long as he’s not hurting you and your kids (physically and emotionally), you need to be strong and work with your husband to resolve your differences. Always put yourself in his shoes. Why is he acting this way? Was it something about you or could it be that it’s just who he is? Remember that even though marriage united you as one, you’re still two different people who have different views, dispositions, ways of expressing love and emotion. Find a balance too between being a part of a married couple and being your old self. When the other half is growing up (career, money, hobbies, etc), the other one should be too or else she/he would feel left out. This is where resentment and unhappiness enter the picture.

Be loyal to your spouse. You may find someone else better, stronger, etc. and even if you tell him so (which I suggest you don’t), at the end of the day, you’re still a team and he depends on you to believe in him (and vice versa). Never air out your dirty laundry with the opposite sex no matter how close you are with them. Telling your friends is one thing, but to pour out your heart to a male friend might be taken the wrong way. Communicate with your husband instead, that’s what marriage is for. No matter how hard you fight or whatever conflicts you may have, it should always be you and him against the world.

I have a list of things that needs to be accomplished every 30th or 31st but as you can see, it’s now the first week of July and none of them have been crossed out yet.

1. Pay all our credit card bills to avoid interests
2. Pay Sandy’s tuition. We’re paying the school monthly because we’re not sure how long Sandy will last.
3. Renew or change our car insurance company?
4. Leave money for rent and electricity.
5. Pay PLDT or else I’d have no Internet connection
6. Have someone pick up the laundry
7. Salary for Sandy’s yaya
8. Transfer paypal money to bank account

I’m late updating today because I got hooked browsing through new furniture stores online. You all know by now that it’s one of my favorite pastimes aside from window shopping and lurking blogs. I found some cute toy organizers and shoe racks that made me think of de-cluttering our closet and hallway again. I give away Sandy’s old toys every month now just to avoid clutter but her Papa manages to replace them every time he comes home. We have enough happy meal and kiddie meal toys to fill a big basket too. When I clean the hallway and toy boxes, I make sure that Sandy is away because as soon as she sees an old toy, she falls in love with it again and makes sure that it doesn’t leave her sight for a couple of days. At least, with the toy organizers (it comes in three colorful baskets per row); I can just throw the toys back quickly when she’s done. She usually helps me clean up her mess especially if she gets to grab as many toys as she can and put them in one huge box at the same time. I hope I can find something cheap at the mall this weekend. The one that I saw before cost $90 which I think is too much for a couple of toy boxes.

It’s not very easy, I’m sure you know. That’s why I never get enough reading about diet tips for easy weight loss. I’m a regular visitor of WeightLossDietHelp.com because I find their articles on weight loss very useful. I also recommend this site to my friends who are struggling with post-pregnancy weight. Here you can get online coupons and discount promotions for popular diet programs like Nutrisystem, Medifast, Weight Watchers and more. I like the fact that they stress out the important of losing weight in a healthy way. That’s also the reason why they compare leading diet plans and weight loss programs to help consumers choose the right plan for them. (more…)

This is what I’m working on. I’m still getting the hang of it so please don’t expect too much. Designing kits/papers is so hard so kudos to all product designers out there. It’s so much fun though especially when you learn new tricks every day. As of this moment, I still got loads of things that I need to learn but I’m enjoying every frustrating moment.

*I’m still undecided with the label and might do more color variations.

I’ve always wanted to design papers (and soon elements!) ever since I discovered digital scrapping but can’t really find the right time. The reason I’m starting now is because I am so inspired by Jacq’s work. You can see her wonderful layouts and beautiful kits here.

The Husband hasn’t been sleeping well lately. It’s probably his allergy acting up again because our helper had to move some furniture inside the bedroom and have unearthed so many dust bunnies. I should’ve taken a look at the steam cleaners for sale last week. The salesman who was doing the demo said the vapor steamer can remove dirt and stains, kill dust mites, molds and other bacteria which is usually the common cause of The Husband’s and sometimes Sandy’s allergies. I wasn’t able to finish the demo because I was busy running after Sandy. I remember the price being steep but since it’s on sale, I can save about $45.

Technology has really come a long way. Not only technology helps to improve the quality of life, but it’s also being constantly used to aid law enforcers in solving crimes. Recently, a tracking key helped provide evidence in babysitter murder indictment. Using the racking key from Land Air Sea Systems, a man named George Ford was arrested for the death of a 12-year-old. Apparently, his wife was suspecting him of having an affair so she placed a vehicle tracking in his car. The GPS device recorded information on how far he traveled, where he stopped and how long, and how fast he was driving. According to the news article:

Based on the information from the tracking key, that’s when investigators believe Ford chased Somers down the road in his truck and intentionally ran her over around 3:00 am.

So there you go. A crime solved with the help of technology. The GPS Tracking key is very small and can be placed anywhere in the vehicle, even under if the car is locked. It can store up to a month’s worth of data which includes the number of stops the driver made, the times and places he/she visited, and driving speed per second. These types of data were recorded using an internal computer that accurately determines the location of the device within 2.5 meters. It is also compatible with Google Earth and water-resistant so you don’t have to worry about it being damaged when splashed with water.

As useful as it is, you can not use the device that might violate the privacy right of others.
