Are you kidding me?

Yikes! Termites

Posted on November 12th, 2008

My mom sent me an email (yes, that’s how high tech we are. we email instead of calling each other) today informing me about the termite problem in our house. She said she woke up this morning and saw a trail of termites on her bedroom wall. I told her it could be just ants but she insisted they were termites. We argued for some time via Yahoo Messenger and after checking out this termite identification guide online, I finally agreed that we have termites. And what timing! Considering my 10th month old niece was scheduled to sleep there over the weekend. Anyway, I’m deciding what to do with them, with the help of killthetermites.com website. I have a few options and all of them require the use of pesticide. According to the guide, you can also get termites by bringing in used furniture. So better be careful when buying used stuff, you never know what you’re taking home with you.

Questions of the Week #39

Posted on November 12th, 2008

1. Who brings out the BEST in you? — Sandy and The Husband, who else?

2. What makes you laugh? — My daughter’s silly antics, a great comedy show (SNL, Will Ferrel, Conan O’ Brien), a funny conversation with husband or friends

3. What makes you cry? — Almost anything could make me cry. Remembering sad things, a touching commercial, a beautiful story from a book or more, being thankful

4. Would you help this damsel in distress? + You notice a woman with a stroller struggling to get to the top of a broken escalator. You’re late for a meeting with an important, and impatient, person. — Who wouldn’t help her? I know how hard it is to manage a stroller let alone one on a broken escalator. That spells disaster. You’d be heartless to ignore it.

5. Do you need some form of retribution and vindication before you forgive? — Sometimes. It depends on what happened.

6. Do you think you are mentally prepared to win a jackpot in a lotto? — yeah baby! Give it to me!

7. Do you think the kinds of movies a person enjoys are an indicator of what type of person they are? - Not all but for me it is. I really don’t like disturbing movies like pedophiles and sex addicts you know.

8. How do you do anything? — TO-DO list.

9. Does music affect your personality? — All the time. I have various types of music for working out, for designing, for programming and for travelling. It always sets the mood.

10. What can you say to brighten someone’s day? — Just a nice, heartfelt compliment I guess.

Hi-Lo

Posted on November 11th, 2008

Hi: Live Windows Writer. I can blog anytime I want, whether scheduled, draft, etc. It’s sooooo convenient especially now that this blog kept on hanging because of a script that was part of the latest installation of wordpress.
Lo: I’ve been working straight since 7AM-12PM for the past weeks without blogging in the morning. Now that I can blog anytime I want, my schedule for work might suffer.

Hi: Boracay photos, tons of memories to scrap (as if)
Lo: I’m so tired I want to take another vacation from our recent vacation

Hi: Sandy having no allergy attacks for the past five days. The ocean can do that to you. We really need to live near the beach bwahahaha.
Lo: The Husband had some serious tummy aches, probably from over-eating and drinking in Bora.We had to go to the ER last night. The doctors prescribed five kinds of medicine plus avoid certain kinds of food. Guess this is the best time to start with our healthy cooking plan.

Hi: The first box from my shopping spree arrived. Thanks Peachy! I’m very excited to see The Husband’s shoes and the little girl’s Leapster Lmax and travel aquadoodle.
Lo: I’ll have to be strong and make sure that I won’t give Sandy’s toys until Christmas. I seriously can’t afford to buy a new set of toys (we’ll see). Except for Richwell of course. I just have to check if there’s a playhouse there.

Gawd, I love Live Writer.

Update Your Style

Posted on November 11th, 2008

Do you like Stylehive? I’ve been a fan of this site ever since I came across them from a fashion forum. At Stylhive, you can connect with other online style addicts and have access to their fashion styles, favorite shops, design creations, latest cool products and many more. As a member you can build your own shopping magazine, chat with other hive members, share your shopping lists and promote your wares. And even if you’re not a member, you can browse and subscribe to RSS for free to receive updates on the latest fashion, unique finds, new shops and galleries of other members wearing their fabulous outfits (stylediary).

As for me, I go here not only to check out suggestions on Women’s Coats, shoes, bags, jeans but also to save outfits that I can copy in the future. The site is not all about clothes, make ups and shoes though. Since electronic gadgets are now considered accessories, you can search for laptops, cell phones, digital cameras and ipods too. I saw plenty of laptop skins that I’m considering to buy because I’m just so bored with my laptop. Just look at this Starry Night sticker. Gawd, I would love to get my hands on this, along with other fab accessories and vintage notebooks that I bookmarked. I’m so glad I stumbled upon these great finds. Now I can add this on my wish lists for Christmas.

Yes, We’re Back!

Posted on November 10th, 2008

There was a storm on our first day, what did you expect? But overall, it was great. Sandy’s cousin, Chloe, was enough to keep her happy so she didn’t throw tantrums a lot (just a bit). I managed to live my dream - lying down on a sunbed, letting my skin burn while listening to the soft sound of the waves crashing down. We have nice photos but not a lot. The sun rarely appeared so we took advantage of it while we can by swimming and sun bathing.

One of the best parts of our trip? Happy hour! From 7AM-7PM, we ordered cocktails and local beers (at 50% off) from the bar downstairs. Thank God I’m done breastfeeding bwahahaha. I drank as much as I can to compensate for all those years that I abstained from anything alcoholic. :D

90210

Posted on November 10th, 2008

I was never a fan of the original version although I managed to watch a few episodes. So it’s safe to say that I wasn’t looking forward to the spin-off. Last night, while waiting for my show “What About Brian”, I was shocked to see that it has been replaced by the new 90210 show. I was really frustrated because I consider my shows as one of the high points of my week. But since I’ve always enjoyed watching tv shows about struggling teens / families etc, I’ve decided to give it a try. It was the first episode and wasn’t really good. I kept thinking how the main characters, at least the ladies looked too thin. I’m searching the web right now to show you what I mean. When The Husband saw this scene where Erin Silver and Annie Wilson were taking, he was like “Ano ba yan?? ANG PANGIT!” bwahahahha. Just imagine watching them on HDTV. Seriously, the character, Erin Silver’s arms were so thin, it was making me uncomfortable to watch her. I used to like her face before.

We’re in Bora!

Posted on November 6th, 2008

No, I’m not blogging from the beach. God forbid. The Husband might kill me if he even hears me mention the word Internet.

This is just a scheduled post to remind you all how I’m lying down under the sun while drinking pretty cocktail drinks. But wait, it’s only 1PM so I have to wait for three more hours before I can take advantage of the buy one, take one cocktails at FRIDAYS.

Gawd, I hope the weather would be this nice. And that I’m not spending the day chasing after Sandy bwahahaha. Have a great weekend y’all! Jen of Celluliticbliss, this post is for you!

Yeah Baby!

Posted on November 5th, 2008

This is my goodbye post. The last post before we go to Boracay. BWAHAHAHA. Okay, so I need to work at 4AM first just to be sure that I don’t get too booked come Monday. And it will take my mind off work knowing I was able to finish something before I hit the beach. Plus, and I’m being honest here, the real reason why I want to go online is because I need to make sure that my new contract will be on my inbox when I get back. We are negotiating my pay and I better be online when they send me the final amount so I can reply asap. :D
